Laborers spent the weekend removing trash on Bench Boulevard in Billings, Montana, braving the summer heat to improve their neighborhood and build our solidarity!
Laborers are rising and making a difference in our communities!
Local 158 led the laborers' involvement in a charity biking event with proceeds going to the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley. The Pennsylvania Laborers' District Council (PALDC) as well as several local unions within the PALDC - Locals 130, 373, 1058, 1174 - also supported the ride through donations and participation.
Local 1353 attended a Beech Fork State Park volunteer clean-up event!
12 Laborers and their families, joined by West Virginia State Delegate Ryan Browning, spent the day picking up trash throughout the park and around the lake.
As part of the Kid’s Don’t Float program to promote water safety, Local 71 members placed children’s lifejackets in designated stations at Pioneer Park and Graehl Landing.
When disaster strikes, Laborers step up.
Local 300 and 1309 turned out for Palisades, CA, recovering historic chimneys still left standing by the Palisades fire last January. The Chimneys will be used by the House Museum for Project Chimney, its effort to create a Palisades Fire Memorial.

Local 386 members showed up and showed out for a community meeting on new turbines to be installed in the Allen Combustion Turbine Plant in southwest Memphis.

Local 79 members, organizers, and New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) residents helped secure a huge win for the residents of Hylan Houses, who overwhelmingly voted to join the Public Housing Preservation Trust. Voting Trust prevents privatization of NYCHA housing, supports and uplifts the community, and promotes collective bargaining and UNION jobs.
Today members of Local 1075 volunteered to help Blue Water Habitat for Humanity build a home for a person in need.
